Industrial Gas Cylinders
Industrial gas cylinders are constructed from materials like high-strength steel or aluminum. Industrial gases have critical properties that make robust storage and supply methods necessary. To be stored in cylinders, gases like argon, helium, oxygen, nitrogen, or hydrogen need to be compressed at a pressure of up to 300 bar as standard.
Fuel gases are usually stored at lower temperatures in gas cylinders. Acetylene-carrying cylinders contain porous mass in which gas is held in a carrier solvent. These industrial gas cylinders are heavy and need careful handling. The cylinders are fitted with tested valves to ensure safety and control flow pressure of stored gases. The outer thread of the valve is regulated by national and international standards. Only regulators which comply with safety standards are used and sold.
